This course examines the holistic approach to health and well-being through the lens of Scripture, focusing on the integration of mental health, physical health, spiritual growth, and emotional wellness. Participants will explore biblical teachings and principles that promote balance and harmony within the framework of their lives.

This course examines the holistic approach to health and well-being through the lens of Scripture, focusing on the integration of mental health, physical health, spiritual growth, and emotional wellness. Participants will explore biblical teachings and principles that promote balance and harmony within the framework of their lives.

Course Objective

1. To understand the biblical perspective on mental health and emotional well-being.

2. To explore the significance of physical health and how it relates to overall life balance.

3. To deepen one's relationship with God through spiritual practices and understanding.

4. To integrate mind, body, soul, and spirit in daily life for holistic wellness.

Course Format

- Duration: 12 weeks

- Weekly Sessions: 1.5 hours each (including discussion, teaching, and group activities)

- Format: Lecture, group discussion, personal reflection, and practical exercises

Weekly Breakdown

#### Week 1: Introduction to Life Balance

- **Topics:** Definition of life balance in biblical terms; Overview of mind, body, soul, and spirit.

- **Reading:** Genesis 2:7; 1 Thessalonians 5:23

- **Activities:** Introduction of personal goals for the course.

 

#### Week 2: The Mind – Understanding Mental Health (Imposter Syndrome/Disorders)

- **Topics:** Biblical basis for mental health; The importance of mental well-being.

- **Reading:** Philippians 4:6-8; 2 Timothy 1:7

- **Activities:** Guided meditation; journaling for mental clarity.

 

#### Week 3: The Mind – Strategies for Emotional Wellness (stress

- **Topics:** Managing stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges; Scriptural mindfulness.

- **Reading:** Psalm 94:19; Isaiah 26:3

- **Activities:** Group sharing session on mental health coping strategies.

 

#### Week 4: The Body – God's Design for Physical Health

- **Topics:** The biblical view of the body; Nutrition and exercise from a biblical perspective.

- **Reading:** 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 3 John 1:2

- **Activities:** Reflective exercise on personal physical health habits.

 

#### Week 5: The Body – Holistic Care Practices

- **Topics:** The role of rest, exercise, and nutrition in life balance; Sabbath rest.

- **Reading:** Exodus 20:8-11; Mark 2:27

- **Activities:** Create a personal wellness plan incorporating physical health practices.

 

#### Week 6: The Soul – Understanding Your Inner Self

- **Topics:** The soul in scripture; Emotional health and its biblical grounding.

- **Reading:** Matthew 11:28-30; Psalm 42:11

- **Activities:** Soul-searching exercises and sharing.

 

#### Week 7: The Soul – Cultivating Emotional Resilience

- **Topics:** Development of emotional intelligence through biblical teachings.

- **Activities:** Practical exercises on forgiveness and letting go.

- **Activities:** Group brainstorm on obstacles and support strategies.

 

#### Week 12: Creating a Life Balance Action Plan

- **Topics:** Setting long-term goals for maintaining balance; How to course-correct.

- **Activities:** Present personal life balance plans and commit to accountability partners.
